This study examined the effect of emergency medical training on the knowledge and practical skills of community ambulance volunteers. A pre-experimental, one-group pretest-posttest design was employed involving 25 volunteers. The intervention comprised interactive lectures, demonstrations, simulation-based training, and hands-on practice addressing initial patient assessment, basic life support, first aid, and patient transfer techniques. Knowledge was measured before and after training using a validated questionnaire, while practical skills were assessed through direct observation using a standardized checklist derived from current resuscitation guidelines. Data were analyzed with a paired t-test. All participants were male, with a mean age of 43 years; most had completed senior high school, while the remainder held a bachelor's degree. Half had previously received emergency care training. Mean knowledge scores increased from 84.29 to 90.71 following the intervention, reflecting a 6.42-point (7.6%) improvement, though this change did not reach statistical significance (p = 0.082). Observational assessment indicated that most participants correctly performed the sequence of first aid interventions and patient transfer procedures. However, deficiencies persisted in specific psychomotor skills, including carotid pulse assessment, chest compression quality, and effective stretcher use, highlighting the need for continued practical training. Overall, emergency medical training demonstrated a favorable trend toward enhancing volunteers' knowledge and practical competencies in basic emergency care and safe patient transport. These findings suggest that simulation-enhanced training combined with interactive instruction can strengthen the capacity of community ambulance volunteers in prehospital emergency response. Regular refresher training and ongoing competency evaluation are recommended to sustain long-term knowledge retention and skill proficiency.
2026-07-31T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2026 Nur Chayati, Nur Hidayati, Azizah Khoiriyati, Esa Pradita Dazza, Toriqul Albab Firdaushttps://pub.borneorec.com/index.php/carmin/article/view/275Building Instructor Capacity for Community-Based Renewable Energy Education through Solar Photovoltaic Training and PBL Module Development2026-05-30T03:49:09+07:00Cucuk Wawan Budiyantocbudiyanto@staff.uns.ac.idIndah Widiastutiindahwidiastuti@staff.uns.ac.idDanar Susilo Wijayantodanarsw@staff.uns.ac.idTaufiq Lilo Adi Suciptotaufiqlilo@staff.uns.ac.idMohd Shafie Bakarshafie@umpsa.edu.myMohd Shawal Jadinmohdshawal@umpsa.edu.myMuhamad Nur Azmi Wahyudimnazmiw@student.uns.ac.idDiefa Nasywa Aedeliadiefanasywaa@student.uns.ac.idMuhammad Ardenta Putra Sanimantaps2902@student.uns.ac.idMuhammad Kholilmuhammadkholil@staff.uns.ac.idSlamet Kurniawan Fahruroziskfahrurozi@staff.uns.ac.id
The transition toward renewable energy requires not only technological advancement but also human capacity to disseminate renewable energy knowledge in educational and community settings. Indonesian students' performance in this area is still very low, as shown by the 2018 PISA results. To address this issue, schools need to provide support to students. Through this community service program, a solution is offered by conducting GILaS through simple experiments for St. Paulus Karuni Middle School students. The main objective of this community service program is to strengthen students' scientific literacy through simple experiments. Through the experimental method, students are actively involved so they can understand the steps and results of the experiment, thereby strengthening their scientific literacy. The participants were 42 students, 16 male and 26 female. The evaluation instrument used was a student response sheet on the implementation of the activity. The instrument contained four main indicators: 1) interest and motivation to learn, 2) understanding of the material, 3) implementation and mentoring, and 4) general benefit. The results of the activity showed that students responded positively to the GILaS activity, with response rates of 65.28 percent strongly agree, 31.15 percent agree, 1.79 percent disagree, and 0.79 percent strongly disagree. GILaS activities are essential, especially for schools with limited laboratories and those that have never conducted practical work at school. This activity is an important part of a collaborative effort to strengthen students' scientific literacy.
2026-07-31T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2026 Geterudis Kerans, Oktavianus Deke, Ni Wayan Prawita Aryani, Khristoforus Palli Ngongo, Angela Ghunu, Falentina Tamo Inahttps://pub.borneorec.com/index.php/carmin/article/view/340Improving Scientific Article Writing Skills among Civil Engineering Students through a Journal Writing Workshop2026-06-05T09:20:32+07:00Louise Elizabeth Radjawanelouise_radjawane@ukipaulus.ac.idLuciana BuarleleIrwan Lie Keng WongSufiati BestariHelen Adri Irene SopacuaHanna Mariani SinggihLasty Dinulfy RKS
The lack of understanding of students in writing journal articles, the use of repetitive sentences and inappropriate terms in the field, as well as the high plagiarism rate results in poor quality articles. Through community service activities, namely journal article writing workshops, it is hoped that academic skills in journal writing, understanding the use of reference manager applications and plagiarism can be improved. The practice by learning method is used in this activity, thus that students are able to directly apply the material presented. The results of this activity, students are able to write scientific journal articles following writing rules/templates, organize and group relevant citations, create citation maps, connect the Researchrabbit application to Zotero and Mendeley, and the plagiarism score using Turnitin is a maximum of 20%. The combination of providing workshop and mentorship in journal writing to students has been proven to enhance students' understanding and ability in scientific journal writing.
2026-07-31T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2026 Louise Elizabeth Radjawane, Luciana Buarlele, Irwan Lie Keng Wong, Sufiati Bestari, Helen Adri Irene Sopacua, Hanna Mariani Singgih, Lasty Dinulfy RKShttps://pub.borneorec.com/index.php/carmin/article/view/257Improving Accounting Literacy Through Practice-Based Training in Accounting Vocational Education2026-05-30T02:49:33+07:00Eka Siskawatieka_siskawati@pnp.ac.idNovrina Chandranovrina_chandra@yahoo.comFirman Suryafirm4n2003@gmail.comFitra Oliyanfitraoliyan@pnp.ac.idRini Frimarinifrima1984@gmail.comWelsi Haslinawelsiehsln@gmail.com
This study aims to enhance the basic accounting literacy of tenth-grade students at SMKN 3 Padang. The Practice-Based Training (PBT) method, a pedagogical approach that emphasises experiential and iterative learning, was used to achieve objectives of the study. Conducted over two structured sessions, the training integrated concept briefing, guided practice, independent exercises, and performance review of simple transaction recording. Quantitative results from pre- and post-tests involving 35 students revealed substantial improvements across all measured dimensions. Qualitative observations further indicated increased student engagement, improved communication with facilitators, and greater persistence during practice tasks. These findings demonstrate that PBT effectively bridges the gap between theoretical instruction and practical application in vocational accounting education. While the study was limited by its short intervention period and single-site implementation, it provides meaningful contributions to the development of practice-centered instructional models that support workforce readiness.
2026-07-31T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2026 Eka Siskawati, Novrina Chandra, Firman Surya, Fitra Oliyan, Rini Frima, Welsi Haslinahttps://pub.borneorec.com/index.php/carmin/article/view/263Strengthening Women’s Entrepreneurial Capacity through Banana Chip Production in Kalongan Village, Semarang Regency 2026-05-30T03:04:39+07:00Sulaeman Fityan Saputrasulaemanfityansaputra@students.unnes.ac.idRama Dirga Dwi Saktiramadirgads03@students.unnes.ac.idNasta Safira Ramadhinanastasafirar@students.unnes.ac.idRohma Nur Anisarohmanuranisa18@students.unnes.ac.idArneta Dyah Selinaarnetadyah31@students.unnes.ac.idKharisma Jelita Putrikharismajelita@students.unnes.ac.idChorinta Wulan Athayachorintawulana@students.unnes.ac.idAbdul Malikabdul.malik@mail.unnes.ac.idJovan Daniel Pradanajovandaniel172@gmail.com
This community service program aimed to strengthen women's entrepreneurial capacity by developing banana chip production as a local economic product in Kalongan Village, Semarang Regency. It sought to empower women by improving practical skills in processing local agricultural resources into value-added products supporting household income and community-based entrepreneurship. The program used Participatory Action Research (PAR), involving 30 women selected through purposive sampling from the SEPATAH KATA community. Implementation proceeded through four stages: socialization of program objectives, training in banana chip production techniques, intensive mentoring during production, and evaluation of learning outcomes. A Likert-scale questionnaire assessed production accuracy, cooperation during production, and participants' independence and consistency. Data were analyzed descriptively using percentage analysis. Results showed positive impacts on participants' entrepreneurial skills and behavior: increased independence and consistency in production (45%), improved cooperation during production (30%), and better understanding of production procedures and step accuracy (25%). Participants also grasped the production stages and actively engaged in collaborative learning. These findings indicate that participatory training combined with continuous mentoring effectively enhanced participants' practical skills in transforming local resources into marketable products. The program successfully strengthened women's entrepreneurial capacity and supported the development of banana chip production as a sustainable local enterprise. Future follow-up efforts are recommended to focus on digital marketing assistance, product legality certification, improved packaging design, and sustainability monitoring of women's business groups.
2026-07-31T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2026 Sulaeman Fityan Saputra, Rama Dirga Dwi Sakti, Nasta Safira Ramadhina, Rohma Nur Anisa, Arneta Dyah Selina, Kharisma Jelita Putri, Chorinta Wulan Athaya, Abdul Malik, Jovan Daniel Pradana
